Job Title Electrical Architect: Mechatronics & Medical Innovation

Job Description

Do the work of your life to help the lives of others.

At Philips, we don’t just build machines; we build the future of healthcare. As a Senior Electrical Architect within our Mechatronics & Manufacturing Systems (MMS) team, you will be the technical heartbeat of multi-disciplinary projects that bring life-saving medical innovations to market.

You will lead the electrical strategy for high-end mechatronic solutions, from advanced motion control to precision measurement systems, ensuring that the world’s most complex medical equipment is safe, reliable, and cutting-edge.

Your Role: Lead, Architect, and Innovate

In this senior leadership position, you aren’t just following a blueprint—you are creating it. Your day-to-day will involve:

Technical Sovereignty: Acting as the Electrical Lead for multidisciplinary teams, overseeing the architecture, design, and integration of complex mechatronic systems.

Competence Leadership: Mentoring and steering a high-performing team of electrical designers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

Strategic Engineering: Defining system requirements and documentation for advanced drive trains and motion control, utilizing the V-model to ensure flawless execution from concept to test.

Collaborative Impact: Partnering directly with customers and internal Philips business units to solve "unsolvable" technical challenges.

You’re the right fit if:

You are a seasoned engineer who thrives at the intersection of hardware, motion, and machine control.

Educational Foundation: A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

The 15-Year Milestone: You bring extensive experience in high-tech environments, with at least 10 years spent mastering complex mechatronic or medical domains.

Domain Expertise: Profound knowledge of motion control, electrical drive trains, and high-precision infrastructure.

Leadership DNA: You have a proven track record of leading electrical teams, breaking down complex work structures, and steering detailed design phases.

Regulatory Fluency: Deep familiarity with CE, EMC, and UL regulations. Experience with medical device standards is a significant advantage.

Mindset: You are a customer-centric team player who enjoys the "Brainport" way of working—collaborative, pragmatic, and fast-paced.

Why Join Philips Innovation Engineering in Eindhoven?

You will be part of a department responsible for the realization of customized test equipment and high-end solutions that support Philips Businesses and Research globally. We draw upon decades of know-how to help our customers innovate faster.

Innovation at the Source: Work at the High Tech Campus and surrounding sites—the smartest square kilometer in Europe.

Culture of Care: We empower our people to grow. We offer a space where your technical leadership is recognized and your personal growth is supported.

Better Together: We believe in the power of the team. Our hybrid model (3 days in-person) ensures we stay connected and creative.

Important Details:

Location Focus: We are looking for candidates already based in The Netherlands (no relocation provided for this specific role).

Travel: Occasional international travel and willingness to work at customer locations.
