About the Job

Trade Lane Development

  • Monitor the trade budget process and interact with the trade colleagues / countries throughout the year

  • Trade Lane volume and GP monitoring within the HWL Matrix Organization

  • Close collaboration with the Global Sea Freight FCL Trade Manager for the global Carrier Strategy and all other relevant important carrier topics

  • Execute the Global Carrier Strategy within the respective Trade Lane(s)

Procurement, Pricing & Routing topics:

  • ·Enforce clear Procurement & Pricing guidelines within the Trade Lane for the countries, carriers and HWL network in conjunction the Global / Regional Head of Trade

  • ·Rate & Contract negotiations with FCL Carriers

  • ·Procurement, Pricing and Routing Authority

  • ·PPQ - FCL contract implementation for the respective trade lane(s)

Carrier

  • ·Optimization of preferred Carrier usage

  • ·Participate in regular review Meetings with our preferred carrier partners

  • ·Trade Lane / Carrier Budget adherence monitoring

  • ·Maintain and develop close relationships with the Trade Management / Key Client Management Team of our global / regional & trade specific carrier partners

  • ·Allocation and Capacity Management (external = Carrier and internal = HWL Network)

Sales

  • Collaboration with Country SF Management & Sales:

  • Joint customer target setting process – ICP per Trade Lane

  • Joint development plan for key customers

  • Regular review meetings / discussions about performance, customers, market development

  • Focal point for Regional OMT in the tender process for the respective trade lane(s)

  • Sales support (joint sales calls, market trends & development information)

Reporting

  • Reporting of monthly Trade Lane Volume forecast per Carrier as per guidelines

  • Reporting of major - negative or positive - carrier, market and/or customer developments to the regional FCL Trade head.

  • Report of key carrier review meeting topics to the Regional FCL Trade Manager

Trade Lane Development

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Secondary:                      Bachelor’s degree

Experience:                     7–10+ years of experience in international sea freight, ocean freight forwarding, or container shipping.

5+ years in trade management preferably managing the Europe–IMEA trade lane.

Strong experience in FCL (Full Container Load) product management and trade development

Professional:                  Proficiency in Logistics ERP software and MS Office

Others: Communicate professionally in English at a business level (verbal and written)
