Site Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Engineer to oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and project schedules. The ideal candidate will coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities: Site Execution

• Supervise and monitor daily site activities to ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Coordinate construction activities with subcontractors, supervisors, and site personnel.
• Ensure project milestones are achieved within the approved schedule.
• Monitor productivity and resolve site issues to avoid delays.

Site Coordination

• Coordinate with Project Managers, Planning Engineers, QA/QC Engineers, HSE Officers, consultants, clients, and subcontractors.
• Attend site meetings and provide progress updates.
• Ensure timely availability of manpower, materials, and equipment.
• Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams for material deliveries.

Technical Responsibilities

• Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, and technical documents before execution.
• Conduct site inspections and verify work dimensions.
• Raise RFIs (Requests for Information) and coordinate technical clarifications.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications and contract requirements.

Quality Assurance & Control

• Ensure all works comply with approved quality standards and inspection requirements.
• Coordinate inspections with QA/QC engineers and consultants.
• Monitor workmanship and ensure timely closure of NCRs, punch lists, and snag items.
• Assist in testing, commissioning, and project handover activities.

Planning & Reporting

• Prepare daily site reports, work progress reports, and resource utilization reports.
• Monitor project progress against the baseline schedule.
• Coordinate with the Planning Engineer to update work status and recovery plans.
• Report any delays, technical issues, or resource shortages to project management.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Ensure compliance with UAE HSE regulations and company safety policies.
• Promote safe work practices and ensure the proper use of PPE.
• Conduct toolbox talks and monitor permit-to-work requirements.
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses promptly.

Material & Resource Management

• Verify incoming materials against approved submittals and specifications.
• Monitor material usage and minimize wastage.
• Coordinate equipment and machinery utilization for site activities.
• Maintain records of material consumption and site inventory.

Project Close-Out

• Assist in final inspections, testing, and commissioning.
• Prepare as-built records and project handover documentation.
• Ensure all snagging and punch list items are completed before project completion.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 3–6 years of UAE/GCC experience in construction site execution.
• Experience in commercial, residential, industrial, structural steel, PEB, or infrastructure projects.
• Good understanding of UAE construction practices and project execution.
• UAE Driving License is an advantage.
