Current Product Engineer Lead

Description:

Leads product quality and field performance for the segment by defining and monitoring quality metrics, analyzing performance data to surface trends and risks, and owning the top-issues process through root-cause investigation and resolution. Partners cross-functionally to validate solutions and implement corrective and preventive actions, establishes standard work and governance, and drives continuous improvement initiatives—including emerging market insights, process optimization, and adoption of automation and AI across product lifecycle and laboratory support.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain quality metrics for each product and the overall segment.

  • Lead the team in managing product field performance to achieve defined quality targets.

  • Direct analysis of quality data to identify trends, risks, and priority improvement opportunities.

  • Own the product top-issues process, driving root-cause investigation and resolution; ensure timely, prioritized tracking and regular status reviews.

  • Partner cross-functionally to drive root-cause identification, complete validation, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

  • Champion standard work and governance for the team and continuously improve processes where required.

  • Lead initiatives across emerging market insights, process optimization, and operational efficiency improvements.

  • Lead programs of complex engineering changes, assurance of supplies, value engineering, etc.

  • Drive adoption of the Future of Work by championing automation and AI to enhance product development, qualification, and laboratory support.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or equivalent); master’s degree preferred.

  • Typically 8–10 years of relevant experience in product engineering, quality/reliability, or sustaining engineering, including leading cross-functional initiatives.

  • Experience using field quality, warranty, or service data to improve product performance, including defining and managing quality metrics/KPIs.

  • Hands-on experience with structured problem solving and CAPA (e.g., 8D, A3, DMAIC), including root-cause analysis and validation of fixes.

  • Fluent in spoken and written English; comfortable communicating technical topics and leveraging digital, automation, or AI-enabled tools to improve engineering and lab workflows.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Structured problem solving and product quality leadership: ability to prioritize issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive validated corrective/preventive actions to closure.

  • Data-driven performance management: define and track quality KPIs, analyse trends/risks, and translate insights into clear priorities and improvement plans.

  • Cross-functional program execution and continuous improvement: strong communication/influencing, governance and standard work discipline, and a mindset for process optimization and digital/automation adoption.
