Job description
The Sales Account Manager is responsible for driving growth across Sensata's automotive aftermarket and Original Equipment Service (OES) channels, with a primary focus on dealer networks and OEM-affiliated service organizations. This role develops strategic relationships with key dealer groups, supports aftermarket product initiatives, identifies revenue growth opportunities, and works closely with customers to increase product adoption and market penetration.
The position serves as the primary commercial contact for assigned accounts, collaborating with product and project teams, marketing, pricing/contracting, and OE Account Managers to execute growth strategies, improve margins, support customer needs, and strengthen Sensata's presence within the automotive service and repair market. Success requires strong account management, business development, and relationship-building skills, along with a solid understanding of automotive aftermarket distribution, dealer programs, and OEM service networks.
This role is Germany based home office requiring frequent travel in the region;
Job Responsibilities:
• Responsible for selling the company's products or services developing new accounts and/or expanding existing accounts.
• Primary responsibility may include finding, generating and developing new distribution partners in order to sell the company's products to end-users
• Creates awareness and demand for company products
• Pursue sales leads
• Lead in visits to existing and new customers
• Analyze customer needs and suggest appropriate products and services
• Respond to customer enquiries; and conclude sales orders to meet established revenue targets
• Innovate / create sales skills and knowledge of the organization's products, services, and customers
• Perform supplier audits on site at distributor warehouse locations
• Identify and implement efficiency opportunities such as distributor dashboards, etc.
• Initiate regular communication with distributors to mitigate shipment errors and discrepancies
Experience / Qualifications
• A bachelor’s in engineering (preferably mechanical/electrical or electronic), or a business degree with significant experience in a technical environment.
• Significant sales and marketing experience at a senior level in Business-to-Business key account management in an industrial environment. Distribution sales and management experience will be a strong plus.
• Experience of working with sensors and industrial automation products is preferable.
• Exceptional commercial acumen paired with solid operational and technical backgrounds.
• Ability to convert customer needs into compelling offerings.
• Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards.
• Excellent communication (oral, written and presentation), analytical and negotiation skills.
• Organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results.
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity.
Base Salary Range:
74,400.00 EUR - 102,300.00 EUR
The salary range is published in line with the EU Pay Transparency Directive and relevant country legislation.
Starting Salary
The starting salary offered will be based on objective, gender-neutral criteria , (e.g internal equivalency, relevant skills, experience, qualifications etc.). Applicants will not be asked for salary history.
