Product Development & Evaluation

  • Support the development, reformulation, and evaluation of food products, ingredient systems, and applications through laboratory work, product preparation, and sensory assessment.

  • Support formulation improvements, product adjustments, processing observations, and practical solutions to technical challenges with direction from senior technologists.

Sample Preparation & Customer Support

  • Prepare finished product samples according to established procedures and support customer projects, product demonstrations, presentations, and technical requests.

Research & Innovation Support

  • Assist in research activities, product improvement initiatives, creative ideation sessions, and the investigation of new ingredients, technologies, and solutions as part of assigned R&D projects.

  • Contribute to the development of new knowledge, products, and technologies by supporting experiments, collecting observations, and sharing technical findings with the R&D team.

Technical Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and prepare technical reports, presentations, product information, data tables, and project summaries.

Laboratory Operations, Product Testing & Manufacturing Support

  • Operate laboratory equipment and maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment.

  • Evaluate raw materials, formulations, and finished products through sensory and technical assessments.

  • Support preparation, evaluation, and documentation required for commercialization activities within defined procedures.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Learning

  • Collaborate with internal teams and support customer or supplier-related technical activities as required.

  • Continuously develop technical skills, scientific knowledge, and industry expertise through training, professional development, and the evaluation of emerging technologies and trends.

Functional Knowledge:  Describe breadth and depth of knowledge of functional work and activities required

Possesses foundational knowledge of food science, ingredient functionality, product development, sensory evaluation, and food safety principles. Applies this knowledge to support sample preparation, product evaluations, raw material assessments, and technical documentation activities.

Demonstrates an understanding of laboratory practices, product applications, and basic manufacturing processes. Contributes to troubleshooting and continuous improvement by providing technical observations and recommendations. Continuously develops technical expertise through training, experimentation, and learning about new technologies and industry trends.
