Job Summary

Alborkan Global General Contracting - L.L.C. is seeking a qualified and experienced Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial and cost-related aspects of MEP construction projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for quantity take-offs, cost estimation, subcontractor valuations, variations, interim payment applications, cost control, procurement support, and final account settlement. Candidates must have practical experience working on MEP construction projects within the UAE.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, HVAC, and related MEP works.
• Review tender drawings, specifications, bills of quantities, contracts, and other commercial documents.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, rate analyses, and project cash-flow forecasts.
• Prepare and submit interim payment applications and supporting documentation.
• Review and certify subcontractor and supplier payment applications.
• Identify, evaluate, prepare, and submit variation claims.
• Maintain variation logs, payment records, subcontractor accounts, and commercial trackers.
• Prepare cost comparison statements and support the procurement team during subcontractor and supplier evaluations.
• Monitor project costs against approved budgets and report potential cost overruns.
• Conduct site measurements and verify completed works.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement personnel, consultants, clients, and subcontractors.
• Review subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and contractual commercial terms.
• Assist in the preparation and negotiation of claims, extensions, and contractual entitlements.
• Prepare monthly commercial reports, cost-value reconciliation reports, and project forecasts.
• Support the preparation, negotiation, and settlement of final accounts.
• Ensure proper documentation of all commercial correspondence, approvals, variations, and claims.
• Maintain compliance with company procedures and contractual requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of Quantity Surveying experience in the UAE.
• Mandatory experience in MEP construction or MEP contracting projects.
• Strong knowledge of quantity take-offs, cost estimation, variations, payment applications, and final accounts.
• Good understanding of MEP drawings, specifications, BOQs, contracts, and commercial documentation.
• Experience with subcontractor management and supplier evaluation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and quantity take-off or estimation software.
• Familiarity with FIDIC or similar construction contract conditions is an advantage.
• Strong numerical, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple project priorities.
• Candidates currently available in the UAE will be preferred.
• Immediate joiners or candidates with a short notice period will be given priority.
