Brainlab has a broad portfolio of innovative products ranging from whole Digital OR environments to robot assisted image guided surgery and spanning to planning and optimization of radiotherapy treatments.

Our products are used in hospitals worldwide, from large multicenter deployments to solutions for a single operating room. Our vision is to create an environment for clinical staff that allows them to work effectively with the best possible information available. To efficiently develop and integrate our products for such a broad portfolio, many clinical end applications share a set of highly important central infrastructure components.

To strengthen our software infrastructure application team, we are looking for a Project Engineer who combines technical knowledge, project ownership, and a support mindset.

This role acts at the intersection of engineering, project execution, and support within a regulated medical software environment.

As a Project Engineer – Software Infrastructure Applications, you will:

  • Manage and execute small projects within the software infrastructure domain

  • Actively drive and support the product development process across the full lifecycle

  • Take ownership of software risk management activities

  • Coordinate, define, and execute verification and validation activities

  • Collaborate closely with software developers to write specifications and define test strategy

  • Generate ideas and contribute to the continuous improvement of infrastructure components

  • Update, maintain, and improve technical and support documentation

  • Technical university degree in (software) engineering, medical informatics, physics, or a comparable qualification

  • Experience in the design and/or development of medical devices

  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation for medical devices

  • Familiarity with working according to design control processes

  • Well-organized, proactive, and structured working style

  • Flexibility and solution-oriented thinking

  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills

  • High affinity for computers, networks, and modern technology

  • Excellent documentation habits and attention to detail

  • Fluent written and spoken English
