Job description
YOUR MISSION & CHALLENGES
As a hands-on design engineer, you will bridge the gap between development, plant engineering, and production, with the goal of enabling increasingly automated assembly processes.
Your objective: to design robot components and assembly tools in collaboration with hardware and mechanical development as well as plant engineering so that they can be assembled robustly, efficiently, and in a manner suitable for series production.
Your main tasks include:
-
Design and develop production equipment, assembly fixtures, and testing devices for manufacturing.
-
Optimize product designs for series production in close collaboration with development, production, and quality assurance.
-
Implement design changes to sustainably improve manufacturability, ease of assembly, and product robustness.
-
Create 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and documentation in accordance with applicable standards.
-
Support production in preparing work instructions and assist with the commissioning and validation of new equipment and fixtures.
-
Work closely with suppliers and internal departments to ensure feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and on-time implementation.
-
Actively contribute to the standardization and modularization of production equipment and design solutions as a foundation for future automation steps.
WHAT WE CAN LOOK FORWARD TO
-
A completed Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Product Development.
-
Professional experience in the design and optimization of mechatronic systems, fixtures, or production equipment—ideally in an environment close to large-scale series production.
-
Proficiency in 3D CAD systems and knowledge of PLM systems.
-
A solid understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerance management, and design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA).
-
A strong hands-on mentality and a focus on practical, implementable solutions.
-
A structured, quality-conscious, and solution-oriented way of working.
-
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary project teams.
-
Very good German and English language skills, both written and spoken.
