About the Platform Team

Every product team's ability to move fast depends on what's running underneath it. The Platform team builds that foundation for Bettermile, from shared infrastructure and authentication to observability, alerting, and developer tooling, so product teams can build, deploy, operate, and secure their products with confidence. The Platform Team's mission is to empower product teams by minimizing their cognitive load, so they can move faster and deliver more business value to our customers.

You will be joining a highly impactful role where you will balance hands-on technical execution (approx. 60%) with strategic stakeholder engagement and mentorship (approx. 40%).

Our current tech stack: AWS(CDK, EC2, ECS, S3, EventBridge, SQS, Location Services, API Gateway), Pulumi, Kotlin, New Relic, Snowflake, PagerDuty, GitHub, GitHub Actions, GitHub Copilot and Claude Code.

You will be taking care of

  • Driving the evolution and stabilization of our central authentication systems
  • Takingownership of our infrastructure's observability, scalability, security, and cost-efficiency, in close collaboration with teams and stakeholders
  • Implementing infrastructure-as-code across our ecosystems
  • Providing Mentorship for platform senior engineers, guiding their professional growth, and fostering strong cross-team collaboration
  • Implementing the company vision by championing DevOps culture, and establishing platform engineering best practices across the organization
  • No echo chambers here! You will challenge technical directions constructively and share your insights openly, while always being a team player who fully backs the squad's final decisions

You check these boxes

  • Deep proficiency and hands-on experience operating within AWS environment
  • Strong background in system operations, specifically with Linux/Unix
  • Fluency in a programming language such as Python or similar
  • A minimum of 2 years of proven experience actively mentoring other engineers and putting them on a successful growth path
  • Security-minded approach to platform engineering
  • A proven ability to constructively challenge viewpoints while consistently aligning with the best interests of the organization
  • A strong preference for a hybrid setup that blends remote flexibility with 2 days of on-site collaboration in our Kreuzberg office

It is awesome if you also have

  • Experience with AI workloads, ML Ops, AWS Bedrock, Agentcore, or Snowflake Cortex
  • Proven experience leading large-scale infrastructure migration projects spanning multiple
