Senior Flutter Developer / Client Engineer, AI-Native and Rust-Friendly (m/f/d)
Bliq
Description
Your mission
As a Senior Flutter Developer / Client Engineer, you will be a key member of the Flutter team, developing, deploying, maintaining, and contributing to high-value products within Bliq.
You will work on Bliq’s driver, passenger, and operator-facing applications, helping us build polished, reliable, and high-performance client experiences for mobility, ride, vehicle monitoring, and driving-assistance use cases.
This role is centered on Flutter and Dart, but it is not a pure UI role. Our client stack combines Flutter on the product surface with native and background capabilities, including Rust-backed components for performance-critical, hardware-adjacent, or real-time functionality.
You will help shape the next generation of Bliq client applications, bringing together clean architecture, responsive user experiences, real-time data, AI-assisted engineering habits, and strong cross-platform development practices.
In particular, you will:
- Implement cutting-edge features in Bliq apps for drivers, passengers, and operators according to customer requirements and the product roadmap.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain core elements of the Bliq Ride mobile app technology stack.
- Build and maintain Flutter applications for real-time vehicle operation, monitoring, and driving-assistance visualization.
- Develop operator-facing UI for camera views, HUD surfaces, diagnostics, control state, and driving-assistance overlays.
- Integrate live telemetry, control state, video/streaming data, diagnostics, and other real-time signals into responsive product experiences.
- Work on hybrid client solutions where Flutter drives the UI and native or Rust components handle background, performance-critical, or hardware-adjacent functionality.
- Collaborate with backend, vehicle, native, and product engineers on data contracts, telemetry flows, client behavior, and product requirements.
- Help drive key technological decisions around frameworks, system architecture, requirements, and client-side performance.
- Write clean, testable, maintainable code and help spread this engineering culture throughout the company.
- Improve performance, reliability, observability, usability, and correctness in safety-sensitive and data-dense product areas.
- Improve our CI/CD workflows and development automation.
- Mentor junior developers and share better development practices across the team.
- Use AI tools effectively during day-to-day development for debugging, refactoring, architecture exploration, test generation, code comprehension, and delivery acceleration.
Your profile
You are passionate about Flutter development, clean code, technical problem-solving, and building successful products in an early-stage company environment. You are hands-on, detail-oriented, collaborative, and comfortable deeply involving yourself in every aspect of product development.
You are strong on the client side, excited about building polished product experiences, and comfortable working across the boundary between Flutter UX and lower-level native integrations. You do not treat native or Rust-backed components as a black box; you are willing to understand and contribute across that boundary when needed.
You have:
- 5+ years of experience in mobile or client-side development.
- 3+ years of professional experience with Flutter and Dart.
- A deep understanding of mobile operating systems and cross-platform client development.
- Experience building complex mobile, desktop, or cross-platform applications.
- Experience with Firebase, including Firestore, Crashlytics, Messaging, Remote Config, or related services.
- Experience writing native iOS code in Swift and native Android code in Kotlin.
- Solid understanding of reactive programming, streams, async systems, and event-driven UI.
- Experience working with hybrid architectures that combine high-level UI frameworks with nativ
