Sephora SEA’s omni channel business spans over 8 countries (Australia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand) with 100+ stores and boasts some global flagships such as ION and Raffles City in Singapore, F88 in Kuala Lumpur and Pitt Street in Sydney. Sephora SEA is experiencing rapid growth in the region with new store openings and business channels (i.e., Click and collect and marketplace).

 

Manager, Merchandising, Asia

 

As a Manager, Merchandising, Asia, you will contribute to the development and implementation of merchandising strategies across the Asia region. You will assist the Director in shaping category strategies, ensuring alignment with global objectives while addressing regional specificities. 

 

This role involves collaborating with global brands for efficient market execution, supporting the sourcing and incubation of emerging Asian beauty brands to enrich Sephora’s product assortment, and aiding in the oversight of the merchandising budget. Furthermore, you will conduct in-depth business analytics to identify market trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement, provide support for strategic global meetings, and contribute to the development of the Asia product development and animation calendar.

Category Strategy

  • Contributing to the development of Asia category strategy based on market trends, consumer insights, and sales data to identify white space, optimize growth, space productivity, profitability, and strong 360 campaigns to support key natures to gain category penetration
  • Supporting the Director, Asia Merchandising in developing and implementing category strategies for the Asia region, ensuring alignment with global objectives while addressing regional specificities

 

Global Surge Brand Management

  • Collaborating closely with Global surge brands to ensure smooth operational execution within each of the Asia markets, addressing any logistical or market-specific challenges

Asia Incubation Brand Sourcing

  • Assisting the Director in maintaining oversight of the merchandising budget, ensuring responsible allocation and tracking of investments in key brands

Business Analytics

  • Deep diving into category business performance in collaboration with the Merchandising Analytics team, to create a comprehensive view of the Asia market – identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement

Strategic Business Support

  • Supporting the Vice President, Merchandising in preparing for key global strategic meetings – including data analysis, presentation preparation, and the development of key insights

 

Product Development and Animation Calendar

  • Supporting the process of developing the Asia product development and animation calendar, ensuring alignment with market trends and consumer preferences

 

We would love to hear from you if you are/have…

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in merchandising, category management, ideally with multi-brand retail experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics or a related field, an MBA would be an advantage
  • Track record in developing and implementing category strategies to drive growth, profitability, and market penetration
  • Expertise in building category strategies based on market trends, consumer insights, and data analytics
  • Experience in managing brand portfolios, including supplier relationships, commercial negotiations, and joint business planning
