Job description

Position Overview: PerkinElmer is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our team as a Purchasing Specialist. In this role, you will play a critical part in shaping our global purchasing strategy, ensuring the efficient procurement of goods and services to support our mission and business objectives . The ideal candidate will bring strategic thinking, strong negotiation skills, and a proven track record in developing and managing supplier relationships

Reporting: This individual will report into the SG Purchasing Manager and contribute to improve supply chain efficiency and enhance overall competitiveness. This individual will play a key role in supporting the procurement team and related activities covering 1500 + part numbers. This role requires Procurement experience with a proven track record of successfully delivering broad international sourcing deliverables on time, within scope, and on budget. The purchasing specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Sourcing, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance) and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Production Planner on-demand requirement
  • Release purchase orders per system generated purchase requisitions and ensure all purchase orders are delivered on time.
  • Proactively monitor material delivery according to SIOP plan to ensure no material shortage impact to production.
  • Attend daily production meetings to communicate material issues and advise action items.
  • Perform weekly inventory monitoring to ensure all raw material inventory targets are achieved.
  • Supplier performance tracking and management.
  • LRS contract negotiation- To drive increase LRS spend commodity by commodity.
  • Review E&O and manage LTB activities to minimize obsolescence risk.
  • Streamline processes and drive continuous improvement in performance and customer/employee satisfaction.
  • Lead in special projects and key initiatives identified from time to time

Basic Qualifications

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or related discipline
  • 5-8 years of experience in a dynamic and fast-paced MNC manufacturing environment

  • Strategic Sourcing & Cost Management – Proven ability to identify and execute cost-saving opportunities while ensuring quality and supply continuity.
  • Negotiation & Contract Management – Skilled in managing supplier agreements and achieving favourable outcomes.
  • Supplier Relationship Management – Ability to develop strong supplier partnerships that enhance reliability, innovation, and sustainability.
  • Analytical Thinking – Strong capability in spend analysis, market intelligence, and fact-based decision-making.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Effective in working with diverse stakeholders across manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and quality functions.
  • Ethics & Compliance – Strong commitment to integrity, transparency, and adherence to procurement governance.
