Job description

The Hiring Company is today a world leader in the design and construction of aircraft maintenance facilities having designed and constructed over 130 hangars worldwide over a 35-year period.

We have the in-house expertise in all disciplines required to design and build state of the art facilities with an in depth understanding of an airline/MRO’s operational requirements. These include, but are not limited to, architectural facility planning, structural engineering, civils, mechanical and electrical engineering and fire suppression. Furthermore, from being an experienced contractor we are well versed in the realities of being a ‘builder’ and not just a designer. We have a clear understanding of all related regulations and codes as well as knowledge of the latest equipment, materials and practices on the market incorporated in the most up to date aircraft maintenance facilities. Finally, we have a well-respected reputation in the industry for our ability in the value engineering and delivery of the most cost-effective facility without compromising on quality.

As part of our diversified portfolio and services, we provide complex and heavy steel structural design, supply and heavy-lift installation across ALL industries from Data Centres to Convention Centres and any large-scale facilities that require wide or column-free space.

The Role

This is a full-time on-site office role in Singapore. The role involves day-to-day tasks to managing tender submissions, estimating costs, liaising with suppliers and subcontractors and ensuring the accuracy and competitiveness of bids and bid proposals. The role will extend to post contract administration, which requires working closely with our project managers on matters related to project cost monitoring progress certification for claims and payment, variation claims and final account settlement.

The key responsibilities (but not limited to) at Tender Stage are:

  • Review tender documents and prepare a summary of the salient points and all potential risk involved.
  • Review the overall scope of the tender and propose the job responsibility separation between the assistant tender manager and the quantity surveyor.
  • Prepare a tender schedule which includes the formulation of the cost preparation document, construction design readiness, calling and receipt of quotations by subcontractors and suppliers, internal reviews and final inking of the tender submission documents.
  • Responsible for carrying out quantity takeoff for tendering of projects
  • Studying the tender specifications and drawings
  • Assist the tender evaluation and preparation of tender documents for submission
  • Assists in PQM submission.
  • Assist the Business Development Management in the preparation of tender proposals, when required.

The key responsibilities (but not limited to) at Post-Tender Stage are:

  • Assist in subcontract procurement, evaluating, negotiation, selecting competent supplier and subcontractors and to prepare for relevant contract agreement.
  • Measure and determine the amounts of work done at any stage of the construction for project budget, cost control, submission to client and financial budget report.
  • Check and evaluate the progress claims submitted by the sub-contractors.
  • Carry out contract administration duties.
  • Assist in the settlement of final accounts with client, suppliers and subcontractors.

From time to time, the Management will at its discretion assign other job duties or assignments to you. The Company reserves the right to second or transfer you to another department. Such a transfer or secondment is at the absolute discretion of the Management.

Qualifications

  • 7 – 10 years of Practical experience in a similar position advantageous
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering
