Job description

At Sunrise, we think bigger, go further and create new ideas. For us working culture means achieving great things together. It’s where respect and innovative ideas combine with real teamwork – every voice counts, every perspective makes us stronger. Our passion spurs us on to try new things and grow continuously. Sound like you? Then join our success story.

As an Analytics Engineer, you will work at the intersection of business consulting, data modelling, and software engineering. You will use modern technologies to turn complex data into trusted business-ready data products that analysts, stakeholders, and AI agents can rely on. Our modern workflows empower you to take end-to-end ownership of complex data modeling projects: from understanding the business problem to deploying and monitoring your data products; all while working with a passionate and supportive team.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

  • Build reliable, documented, tested, and reusable data products that solve real business problems using dbt and SQL, individually and in teams
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business context, definitions, constraints and decisions to be supported
  • Design modular dbt pipelines that turn source data into business-conformed datamarts
  • Apply software development practices, including Git-based workflows, pull requests, CI/CD, code reviews and controlled deployments
  • Implement meaningful data quality tests that catch high-impact issues and create actionable signals
  • Support colleagues through reviews, design discussions, and sharing of good analytics engineering practices

YOUR SKILLS:

  • A university degree in Business, Economics, Business Information Management, Data Science, or related field
  • Excellent SQL skills and the ability to write clear, modular data logic and maintainable transformation pipelines demonstrated through 3-5 years experience in analytics engineering using dbt Cloud
  • Deep knowledge of dbt Cloud and the Analytics Development Lifecycle framework
  • Good understanding of modern software development practices, including Git, pull requests, and code reviews
  • A rigorous approach to documentation, testing, and data quality
  • Experience with cloud data platforms, preferably Google Cloud and BigQuery
  • Ability to probe and understand business needs, explain complex data topics, discuss definitions, assumptions, trade-offs in plain business terms. Fluency in written and oral English is required. German considered an advantage

At Sunrise, you’ll be working in a dynamic and multinational environment where every voice is heard, perspectives are shared and values are lived. Diversity isn’t just a program for us, it’s part of our DNA. By celebrating our differences, we achieve great things together.

Sunrise has partnered with «Advance – Gender Equality in Business». We’ve also been awarded the Swiss LGBTI label and «Fair-ON-Pay Advanced» certification as recognition for offering all our employees equal pay for work of equal value.

Ready to rise to the challenge? Then join the team and actively shape our future!
