Senior PLC Engineer / Field Service Team Leader - Dubai

Role Overview We are seeking a Senior PLC Engineer / Field Service Team Leader to support service operations across the UAE and MEA region. Based in Dubai and dedicated to the Dubai Airport project, this role combines leadership with hands-on engineering expertise. You will lead a team of engineers while overseeing PLC integration with baggage handling systems (BHS) and ensuring high-quality delivery and support of X-ray screening systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain PLC systems using Rockwell (RSLogix 5000 / Studio 5000)
• Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, system integration and handover
• Lead site activities including troubleshooting and performance optimisation
• Provide advanced technical support including root cause analysis
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on systems
• Integrate EDS systems with BHS and HLC systems
• Lead, mentor and manage a team of Field Service Engineers
• Ensure SLA compliance and oversee daily service operations
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and reporting

Qualifications

• 10–12 years experience in field service or automation engineering
• Strong PLC expertise (Rockwell platforms)
• Experience with X-ray or screening systems is highly desirable
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments
• Willingness to travel and adapt to flexible working hours
• Qualifications & Technical Skills
• BSc in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Postgraduate qualification (desirable)
• Knowledge of PLC systems and industrial automation
• Familiarity with electrical schematics and mechanical assemblies
• Experience with MS Windows systems advantageous
• Strong IT skills including MS Office
