Job description

The Role

We are seeking a Technical Engineer (MEP) to support the Technical Manager in ensuring the quality, compliance, and successful delivery of residential and mixed-use developments across Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The role focuses on reviewing MEP design submissions, monitoring construction quality, and ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, and UAE authority requirements.

  • Review MEP shop drawings, material submittals, load calculations, and method statements for compliance with project requirements.
  • Monitor site works to ensure mechanical, electrical, plumbing, firefighting, HVAC, and ELV installations comply with approved IFC drawings and specifications.
  • Review and respond to RFIs and Technical Queries (TQs), resolving technical issues and design clashes.
  • Prepare inspection reports, technical review logs, NCR/SOR logs, and weekly progress reports.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Attend weekly technical coordination meetings and conduct regular site inspections across Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
  • Identify technical risks, quality issues, and non-compliance, and escalate them to the Technical Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of UAE experience in technical review, QA/QC, or site engineering with a contractor, consultant, or developer.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, electrical, and ELV systems, including shop drawing reviews, load calculations, and inspection procedures.
  • Experience reviewing shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, RFIs, and Technical Queries (TQs).
  • Good understanding of UAE authority requirements and building codes (ADCD, DM/DDA, Estidama, DEWA/ADDC).
  • Valid UAE driving license and own vehicle are required, as the role involves regular travel between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
