Job description

What The Role Is You play a pivotal role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance with policies, and supporting the financial health and procurement of the Formation.

What You Will Be Working On

  • Manage and allocate financial budgets during the annual budgeting cycle and conduct quarterly budget reviews to ensure alignment with operational and training needs
  • Process daily financial transactions, perform system tasks such as funds transfers, and monitor payment status for timely disbursement
  • Ensure compliance with finance and procurement policies, review and approve purchases, and serve as a liaison for internal audit readiness
  • Provide financial and procurement advisory to units, offering solutions to meet operational and logistical needs
  • Maintain accurate financial and purchasing data, prepare quarterly and annual reports and support data analysis
  • Train finance clerks on systems and procedures, disseminate new policies, and conduct quarterly finance and procurement forums
  • Coordinate effectively with stakeholders across departments, procurement agencies, and external partners

Challenge(s)

  • Staying updated on MINDEF/SAF's financial policies, procedures, and systems, and keeping abreast of changes in them
  • Being firm yet tactful when handling finance and procurement matters with officers whilst adhering to finance and procurement guidelines

What We Are Looking For

  • Education in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in a finance appointment is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems, compliance frameworks, and reporting standards
  • Excellent organisational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
