Senior Backup Engineer

This role will require 100% onsite working in Basel.

Your Role:

As a Senior Backup Engineer you are responsible for the administration and monitoring of our enterprise backup environment and provide a reliable, high-quality service to the Bank's critical systems.

Your Responsibilities:

• Support backup & restore operational activities
• Collaborate on the design and execution of disaster recovery tests
• Implement monitoring and automation for backup and restore operations
• Collaborate on the design and evolution of the backup infrastructure, supporting the architectural evolution of legacy systems and migration projects
• Assist the team on infrastructure related tasks, including on-call service

Your Profile:

• Higher education in Computer Science (University/FH)
• At least 3 - 5 years of practical experience in the field of backup management, engineering, and enterprise backup solutions
• Solid foundation in SAN storage, Linux, and Windows, with specific expertise in data recovery exercises and Disaster Recovery Plans
• Familiarity with Linux (Red Hat) and UNIX-based OS systems and a strong affinity for automation are highly valued
• ITIL and TOGAF certifications are considered an advantage
• A hands-on professional with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of effectively weighing issues, setting priorities, and taking full ownership of tasks
• A team player characterized by strong work ethics, integrity, and high accountability
• Fluent in English; proficiency in German and/or French is a plus
