  • Partner with investment, trading, and technology teams to assess risk implications of trading activity, system changes, and new business initiatives.

  • Analyze trading behaviour, market events, and portfolio exposures to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend practical risk mitigation measures.

  • Develop and enhance quantitative risk monitoring tools, frameworks, and reporting to improve the firm's ability to detect, measure, and respond to risk events.

  • Challenge and review trading practices, controls, and risk assumptions, providing independent assessment and constructive feedback where necessary.

  • Support the governance and implementation of risk limits, scenario analysis, and stress-testing methodologies to evaluate the impact of extreme but plausible market events.

  • Investigate trading incidents, unusual market activity, and operational exceptions, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to drive timely resolution and process improvements.

  • Collaborate with Risk Technology teams to improve automation, surveillance capabilities, data quality, and real-time risk monitoring infrastructure.

  • Produce risk analysis and management information for senior stakeholders, contributing to risk committees, governance forums, and strategic decision-making processes.

  • Experience gained within risk management, quantitative trading, market risk, electronic trading, or a similarly analytical environment.

  • Strong understanding of trading workflows, market structure, and risk management principles within fast-paced and technology-driven trading businesses.

  • Ability to evaluate complex datasets, draw meaningful conclusions, and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Experience working alongside traders, quantitative researchers, software engineers, and operational teams in a collaborative environment.

  • Strong programming and data analysis skills, particularly in Python and SQL.

  • Demonstrated critical thinking, sound judgement, and the confidence to challenge decisions where appropriate.

  • Self-motivated with a continuous learning mindset and a desire to improve processes, controls, and analytical approaches.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across a range of business functions.
