Accountant, Vessel Accounting

Brief Summary:

Join a dynamic vessel accounting team, tasked with managing financial aspects related to vessel operations. This position requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure compliance with both internal policies and external regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL) processes.
• Review and validate vessel-related expenses for assigned vessels.
• Prepare monthly financial reports for third-party owners and management.
• Perform data entry for invoices, including intercompany transactions.
• Maintain accurate financial records and balance sheet schedules.
• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and process supplier payments.
• Prepare payments in assigned currencies and handle ad-hoc payment requests.
• Review and validate staff expense claims.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent qualifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, ideally in the maritime or logistics sector.
• Familiarity with ship management accounting principles.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships across various departments.
