Co-Development Business Unit is looking for Software Quality Engineer

Internal Code: A26179

This is a 1-year contract role. What Success Looks Like In your first 6 months, you will have a clear understanding of our application architecture, contributed meaningfully to the existing automation framework, and begun integrating tests into our CI/CD pipelines. Within a year, you will have helped establish a well-documented QA tool stack and set of best practices, with automated coverage across front-end, API, and performance testing that the broader engineering team trusts and relies on.

What will you do? We are looking for a mid-level QA Engineer to join our engineering team and help establish a robust, automation-first quality assurance practice from the ground up. You will work within a small, focused QA team, reporting to the Engineering Manager alongside Software Engineers. This is not just an execution role — you will play a meaningful part in defining the tools, standards, and best practices that shape how we approach quality across the organisation.

You will collaborate closely with Software Engineers and DevOps Engineers to embed testing into our CI/CD pipelines, ensuring quality is built into the development process rather than bolted on at the end. Our applications are built on Java and React, and you will be expected to write and maintain automated tests across front-end, API, and performance testing domains.

  • Design, build, and maintain automated test suites covering front-end UI, API, and performance testing, leveraging and extending existing automation frameworks
  • Work with DevOps Engineers to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring fast and reliable feedback loops for the engineering team
  • Help establish the QA tool stack, define best practices, and set standards for test automation across the team — contributing to a culture where quality is everyone's responsibility
  • Collaborate with Software Engineers and Product Managers to understand requirements early, identify testability concerns, and contribute to clear acceptance criteria
  • Triage and investigate test failures, distinguishing between product defects and test issues, and working with engineers to resolve them promptly
  • Identify opportunities to apply GenAI tools to improve testing workflows — whether in test case generation, test data management, or analysis of test results — with sound judgement on where they genuinely add value
  • Contribute to documentation of testing standards, frameworks, and processes to support knowledge sharing within the QA team and broader engineering organisation

Requirements What are we looking for?

  • At least 3 years of experience in a QA or test engineering role, with a strong focus on test automation rather than manual testing
  • Proven experience writing and maintaining automated tests across front-end UI, API, and performance testing. Familiari
