Finance Manager (Capital Budget)

What The Role Is You will strategically plan and effectively manage capability development and budgets to support both short-term and long-term buildup plans for the Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS).

What You Will Be Working On

• Assist in the preparation of short-term and long-term budget plans for capability development and research and technology projects
• Perform the duties of approving officer for funds for capability development and research and technology projects
• Prepare reports to senior management on budget requirements and performance
• Support finance matters related to capital budget planning and management
• Implement digitalisation or automation solutions to improve budget management processes through Data Analytics (DA) and/or Robotic Process Automation (RPA)

Challenge(s)

• Accurately projecting and analysing budget requirements based on forecasts submitted by project and operations managers, while optimising the use of the defence budget
• Managing stakeholders across various organisations and levels to obtain the required budgetary and project information for management reporting within stipulated timelines

What We Are Looking For

• Education in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Studies, or a related field
• Proficiency in SAP financial systems and computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel
• Familiarity with data analysis methods, data management, and tools such as QlikSense and Power BI is advantageous
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal, written communication and presentation skills
• Meticulous, able to exercise initiative, and capable of working independently
