What The Role Is As an Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for the analysis of crime, drug and immigration related information to produce an assessment to support law enforcement operations, investigation, strategy and policy formulation, which include timely intelligence reports and make presentations to management.
What You Will Be Working On The Home Team plays a critical role in Singapore’s Criminal Justice System with its mission to protect Singapore and to prevent, deter and detect crime. Police Intelligence Department is responsible for providing Intelligence Analysts to support operations and investigations in Singapore Police Force, Central Narcotics Bureau, Immigration and Checkpoints Authority and Singapore Prisons.
As an Intelligence Analyst, you play an integral role in detection and prevention by providing timely and pertinent analysis about crime/drug patterns, trends and emerging threats. You will be responsible for collating and enriching information, analysing and researching on a range of topics including crime activities, scams, drug trafficking, immigration offences; to produce actionable intelligence reports to aid in decision-making.
On the job, you will be used specialised skills, including statistical and visualisation techniques, data analytics and coding, to derive current trends/patterns and draw links across a large volume of data. In addition, strategic analysis is conducted to produce assessments on emerging trends and new threats to the law enforcement landscape.
You will be placed on the Home Team Specialist Scheme in the Police Intelligence Department or intel units in other Home Team departments. Officers will be provided with secondment opportunities in government agencies under HTS scheme.

- Relevant background
- Personality: Strong sense of integrity, self-driven, inquisitive, creative and resourceful. Preference to work in a challenging and ever-changing operating environment.
- Emotional Resilience: Able to perform effectively under stressful situations and difficult circumstances.
- Effective Communication: Able to communicate both verbally and in writing effectively. Adept in using Microsoft Office XP, particularly 'Excel', Word, and 'PowerPoint' functions.
- Research skills: Able to conduct sound research to gather relevant information and apply suitable analytical skills to discover insights, draw conclusions and give recommendations.
- Analytical skills: Able to logically critique a point of view and think through the issue from different angles, approaches and perspectives to give a valid and sound assessment.
- Knowledge in Current Affairs: Able to appreciate developments in the local and international arenas and how they might have an impact on the Police Force.
