Business Analyst - Finance and Data

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Functional Business Analyst with expertise in the Data and Finance domain.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams by gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements for data-centric and financial systems.

Mandatory Skill - set

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or a related field;
• Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A);
• Business domain knowledge in banking or the financial industry;
• Experience in data analytics and handling large sets of financial data;
• Exceptional quantitative, analytical, problem-solving, and process design skills, with the ability to translate analysis into practical solutions that align with business objectives;
• Knowledge of technology and operational processes across various functions and departments in banking or financial markets;
• Familiarity with change management processes and basic project management principles;
• A resourceful team player with strong leadership capabilities to drive discussions and resolve challenges effectively;
• A strategic, forward-thinking approach to problem-solving, complemented by outstanding communication, influencing, negotiation, and persuasion skills;
• Passionate, diligent, and resilient, with the ability to thrive in ambiguous environments;
• Experience in scoping and evaluation, defining considerations such as scalability, maintainability, cost, operations, and potential risks, to provide well-informed recommendations.

Desired Skill-set

Work experience in Corporate banking/Financial market domain.

Responsibilities

• Analyse and document the "to be" business and operations processes based on the agreed requirements and / or function points, perform impact assessment;
• Liaise with Business Unit Specialists to elicit and review business requirements;
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure non-functional requirements effectively incorporate security requirements;
• Analyse and define detailed functional and non-functional requirements based on business requirements;
• Monitor and manage risks /issues related to requirements and scope;
• Major deliverables are Data mapping specifications and Data Lineage, Business Requirement Document (BRD), Functional Specification Document;
• Involved in transition functional and non-functional requirements to System Analysts, and ensure a clear and complete understanding of the requirements;
• Write business functional release notes and contribute to deployment plan;
• Work with Test Manager to translate business requirements into test scenarios;
• Perform impact assessment and estimation for project and change requests;
• Manage Scope creep and Change Request.
