Description
We're looking for a Bookkeeper to join our team onsite here in Berlin.
Based in London, Berlin & Japan, BSI Merch is a global artist services company helping artists, labels & managers connect with fans through merchandise, e-commerce and creative campaign support.
This is a full-time, 5 days per week position based in our Berlin office (09:00 – 17:00).
Tasks
Main duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Bookkeeping & Reporting: Perform full-cycle, double-entry bookkeeping up to trial balance and assist with year-end accounts preparation.

Billing & Credit Control: Oversee billing and credit control functions, ensuring timely invoicing, effective debt collection and providing weekly reports on debtors and creditors.

Tax & Compliance: Prepare, calculate and submit VAT returns, and handle payroll — ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.

Financial Oversight: Oversee and manage general accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and systems, including maintenance of accounting records in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

Work closely with our external accountants TMO to ensure robust and accurate accounts.

Liaise with banks, external auditors, advisors and regulatory authorities.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance financial processes and improve the accuracy of financial reporting.

Ensure adherence to established filing systems and records retention policies, maintaining compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Perform any other duties that may be required from time to time, contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance team.
Requirements

Previous experience with German accounting is required

English language fluency is required

German language fluency is preferred

Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and experienced with accounting software — Xero experience preferred

Experience with international VAT and statutory reporting

Solid understanding of financial processes and double-entry bookkeeping

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across teams and with stakeholders

Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
