Job Description The Signature Research Programme in Health Services Research & Population Health (“HSRPH”) in Duke-NUS Medical School is a centre of academic excellence for research and education of health systems and services for the population in Singapore and beyond. Our research methods include implementation science, health economics, decision science, survey/qualitative research, quantitative medicine, epidemiology, and data science.

Duke-NUS works closely with the Singapore Health Services (SingHealth), which is one of the largest public healthcare cluster in Singapore to advance medicine and improve lives through cutting-edge research and education. The selected candidate will work in the Impact Assessment Unit (IAU) that collaborates with clinicians and researchers from both SingHealth and Duke-NUS Medical School. The IAU offers a unique opportunity to influence decisions that improve outcomes for patients, support clinical teams, and strengthen the broader healthcare system.

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Research Fellow / Research Fellow to lead the evaluation of healthcare innovations and deliver rigorous impact assessments that inform strategic decision-making. You will work in the Impact Assessment Unit (IAU) and with stakeholders across the public healthcare system, contributing to a diverse portfolio of innovations with the potential to generate meaningful, real-world value for patients, providers, and the wider healthcare ecosystem.

The primary responsibilities include but not limited to:-

  • Conduct systematic and non-systematic literature reviews using various search engines and public databases to evaluate the potential value of health innovations, covering study design, implementation, analysis, and communication of findings. This includes identifying subject areas for data extraction, extracting and processing data from institutional databases from institutional databases, and ensuring that analyses are accurate and timely.
  • Manage impact assessment projects from start to finish that includes developing research objectives and study designs, performing data collation and modelling, conducting statistical analyses, and engaging collaboratively with stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Perform health technology assessments, including cost analysis, cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-utility analysis, and budget impact analysis.
  • Prepare evaluation reports for innovation teams and management.
  • Support vetting of reports prepared by other team members.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to develop presentations and present findings as required.
  • Draft research abstracts and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.

Qualifications

  • Possess a PhD in Health Services Research, Health Economics, or a related discipline with at least 3 years of relevant working experience in data analysis and/or impact assessment.
  • Experiences include:- > Leading independent research studies or major components of research programmes, including developing, implementing, and evaluating research projects > Conducting health technology assessments (HTA), including early HTA, cost-effectiveness analysis, budget impact analysis, and broader economic evaluations of health technologies to inform evidence-based and value-based decision-making > Processing raw data to identify trends, patterns, and quantitative insights, with knowledge of statistical tools and techniques > Horizon scanning, benchmarking, and data research and/or in a healthcare setting would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as VBA, R, or Python is helpful
