Job description

Role Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Assistant / Financial Accountant to support the organization's accounting and financial operations while ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial records and reporting. This role is responsible for assisting with day-to-day accounting activities, maintaining financial documentation, preparing reports, and supporting financial controls in accordance with accounting standards and internal policies.

The role will assist in processing financial transactions, maintaining the general ledger, reconciling accounts, preparing journal entries, and ensuring that accounting records are complete and accurate. Responsibilities also include supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, monitoring cash transactions, maintaining supporting documentation, and assisting with month-end and year-end closing processes.

Key responsibilities include preparing financial statements and management reports, performing account reconciliations, supporting budgeting and financial planning activities, assisting with audits, monitoring compliance with financial policies and accounting standards, and identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls. The Accounting Assistant / Financial Accountant will also collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues, maintain accurate financial records, and support effective financial decision-making.

The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification in Accounting or Finance is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, bookkeeping practices, and internal control concepts.
  • Familiarity with general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, financial reporting, and budgeting processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with accounting software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, or financial management systems is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning and process improvement.
