Data Centre Engineer / Datacenter Techniker / Rechenzentrumstechniker

Location: Zurich, Switzerland

Salary: 95,000 CHF + overtime

Employment type: Full time

MUST speak German to B2 level

This opportunity is with a well-established global technology and connectivity partner delivering infrastructure, cabling, and hardware solutions across data centre and enterprise environments.

They operate across multiple regions, supporting both hyperscale and enterprise clients, with a strong pipeline of projects and long-term contracts in place.

You’ll be joining a team focused on delivering high-quality on-site support across cabling infrastructure, hardware installs, and day-to-day data centre operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Cabling across fibre and copper including installs, terminations, testing, and fault finding
  • Patching and general connectivity work within live data centre environments
  • Rack & stack of servers, switches, and associated hardware
  • Remote hands support and ticket-based task delivery
  • Troubleshooting hardware and basic network issues
  • Supporting moves, adds and changes (IMAC work)
  • Maintaining documentation and supporting general site standards

What You’ll Need

  • Experience working within data centres or similar critical environments

Strong grounding in:

  • Fibre and copper cabling
  • Testing (OTDR, light source, and general testers)
  • Rack & stack / hardware installs
  • Comfortable working from ticketing systems and structured processes
  • Basic understanding of networking (patching, LAN/WAN environments)

Nice to Have

  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar systems
  • Exposure to structured cabling standards and best practice
  • Previous remote hands or client-facing support experience

The Reality

  • This is a hands-on role within a live data centre environment
  • You’ll be balancing cabling, hardware installs, and support work day-to-day
  • There is an on-call element and some out-of-hours work required
