We convene decision-makers across finance, technology, and policy to shape the future of the financial system through global partnerships that drive innovation and create positive impact worldwide.

GFTN hosts a worldwide network of forums and programmes; advises governments and companies on policies and the development of digital ecosystems and innovation within the financial sector; offers digital infrastructure solutions, and plans to invest in financial technology startups through its upcoming venture fund, with a focus on inclusion and sustainability.

About the Role

We are seeking a technically strong and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage our regional and group consolidation processes. This role focuses on aggregating multi-currency financial results, managing intercompany eliminations, and ensuring accurate statutory compliance across all subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical accounting standards with a data-driven approach to optimize reporting timelines and system workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Group Consolidation: Execute the monthly consolidation of regional financial statements across multiple foreign subsidiaries and legal entities.
  • Intercompany Matching: Review, reconcile, and resolve complex intercompany balances, transactions, and transfer pricing allocations to ensure accurate eliminations.
  • Foreign Exchange Accounting: Manage foreign currency translations and revaluations, tracking the impact of exchange rate fluctuations on the Group financial statements.
  • Financial Reporting Pack: Prepare comprehensive management reporting packs, consolidated balance sheets, cash flow statements, and required statutory disclosure notes.
  • Audit Coordination: Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors regarding consolidated figures, providing technical accounting papers and required lead schedules.
  • Tax & Statutory Compliance: Ensure compliance with international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS/SFRSs), local statutory filing deadlines, and corporate tax/withholding tax regulations.
  • Process & Systems Optimization: Identify opportunities to automate consolidation schedules, optimize ERP configuration settings, and streamline data submissions from local entity teams.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree in Accounting or equivalent professional certification (e.g., Chartered Accountant, CPA, ACCA).
  • Experience: At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience, with a strong focus on multi-currency group consolidation or group reporting. Big 4 audit backgrounds are welcome.
  • Technical Accounting: Deep knowledge of consolidation principles, cash flow preparation, and technical accounting standards regarding business combinations and currency translation.
  • Systems: Direct hands-on experience using consolidation modules within Tier 1 ERPs (e.g., Oracle NetSuite, SAP, Hyperion, or dedicated consolidation tools).
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for complex financial modeling and spreadsheet controls.
