Job description

We are working with a well-established single-family office seeking to hire a Portfolio Manager – Global Equities to join its investment team. This is a newly created, standalone role, offering the opportunity to take full ownership of the public equities portfolio and directly shape investment strategy at the firm level.

This position is ideal for candidates with a strong foundation in global equities portfolio management, particularly those currently within a family office or private bank environment, who are looking to step into an end-to-end investment role.

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), this role will be responsible for managing and overseeing the family office’s global public equity exposure across both internal portfolios and external managers.

The successful candidate will have the autonomy to define and implement investment strategies, while taking ownership across the full investment lifecycle — including portfolio construction, equity research, risk management, and internal reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Equity Portfolio Management
    • Manage global equities portfolios across developed and emerging markets (direct equities, ETFs, thematic strategies)
    • Lead portfolio construction, stock selection, and trade execution
    • Conduct fundamental equity research and generate actionable investment ideas
    • Oversee liquidity and capital deployment across portfolios
  • External Manager Oversight
    • Support selection, due diligence, and onboarding of external equity managers
    • Monitor portfolio positioning, performance, and style consistency
    • Provide independent assessments and recommendations to the CIO
  • Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting (Internal)
    • Consolidate performance, risk, and exposure data across portfolios
    • Track sector, geographic, factor, and concentration exposures
    • Prepare investment and risk reports for internal stakeholders and investment committees
  • Risk Management
    • Monitor portfolio risks including market, sector, currency, and concentration exposures
    • Conduct stress testing, scenario analysis, and downside risk assessments
    • Recommend hedging and risk mitigation strategies where appropriate
  • Governance & Investment Process
    • Ensure compliance with investment guidelines and risk frameworks
    • Maintain robust documentation across portfolio decisions and manager oversight
    • Support audit and governance processes as required
  • Market & Macro Research
    • Track global macro trends and equity market developments
    • Identify thematic opportunities across sectors and regions
    • Present investment insights and recommendations to the CIO

Requirement

  • 7–15 years of experience in global equities investing, with a strong track record in portfolio management and/or research
  • Prior experience within a family office, private bank, or institutional asset manager strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in global equities (DM & EM), sectors, and investment styles
  • Ability to operate independently in a standalone role, with ownership of strategy and execution
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skillset; familiarity with portfolio analytics tools (Python is a plus)
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to senior stakeholders or investment committees
  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field; CFA/MBA preferred

Why This Opportunity

  • Newly created position with high visibility and direct interaction with the CIO
  • Opportunity to define and implement your own equity investment strategy
  • Full ownership across the investment lifecycle — from idea generation to reporting
  • Lean team environment offering autonomy, flexibility, and impact

Please apply to the role with a recent copy of your CV. We will be in touch once we review your profile for suitability.
