Guidewire BillingCenter Senior Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, develop, and enhance Guidewire BillingCenter applications based on business and technical requirements.
• Develop and customize Gosu code, business rules, workflows, UI screens, data models, plugins, batch processes, and integration components.
• Work on BillingCenter configuration and integration areas including payments, invoices, commissions, delinquency, account billing, producer billing, and billing plans.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA teams, and client stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Design and implement integrations with external systems using REST/SOAP web services, messaging, events, batch interfaces, and Guidewire integration frameworks.
• Participate in technical design discussions, impact analysis, estimation, sprint planning, and solution reviews.
• Perform code reviews, enforce Guidewire best practices, and mentor junior developers.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and support performance optimization and system stability.
• Develop and execute unit test cases, support functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, and defect resolution.
• Ensure deliverables meet quality, security, maintainability, and documentation standards.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5–8+ years of IT experience with strong hands-on experience in Guidewire BillingCenter development and implementation.
• Strong proficiency in Gosu programming, Guidewire configuration, data model extensions, UI configuration, rules, workflows, and batch processes.
• Experience with BillingCenter integration frameworks including plugins, messaging, web services, REST/SOAP APIs, and event-driven integrations.
• Good understanding of P&C insurance billing concepts such as billing plans, payment plans, invoicing, collections, commissions, account billing, and producer billing.
• Experience working with Guidewire BillingCenter version 10.x or later, including cloud or on-premise implementations.
• Working knowledge of Java, XML, SQL, relational databases, and application debugging tools.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery, sprint planning, estimation, build management, and defect tracking tools.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Git, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with distributed teams and client stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Guidewire BillingCenter certification such as Developer, Specialist, or ACE certification is highly preferred.
• Experience with Guidewire Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure, or cloud migration projects.
• Exposure to other Guidewire modules such as PolicyCenter or ClaimCenter.
