This is a high-impact strategic position with strong visibility to senior leadership and the opportunity to actively shape one of the most exciting growth initiatives within zooplus. You will play a key role in expanding our marketplace, working directly with external partners and internal stakeholders to drive scalable growth across Europe.

You will identify, recruit, and develop strategically relevant sellers, directly contributing to the growth and quality of our product assortment. Your work will have a measurable impact on marketplace performance and overall company growth.

In this role, you will manage commercial strategy and operational execution, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to scale our marketplace and define best-in-class processes.

As a Business Development Manager, you will

  • Identify and acquire new marketplace sellers, assessing the strategic fit and potential of their product portfolio
  • Build and actively manage a strong pipeline of sellers to consistently meet or exceed ambitious targets (# sellers and # SKU)
  • Own the end-to-end onboarding of high-potential sellers, ensuring a successful and efficient go-live
  • Identify market opportunities and define growth strategies together with sellers to drive sales and long-term success
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (e.g. Category Management, Tech, Operations) to execute marketplace rollout across countries
  • Define, implement, and continuously optimize scalable processes and operational standards for new markets
  • Drive process optimization and scalability using data, AI, and automation tools
  • Act as a role model and actively promote and strengthen zooplus’ values and purpose

Qualifications Qualifications

  • Fluent in German (C1 Level) and English
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in Seller Management, Vendor Management, Buying, or Category Management, preferably in e-commerce, marketplaces, or retail
  • Proven experience in managing and developing business partners, ideally in an online retail or marketplace environment
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both internally and externally
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Strong analytical skills combined with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset
  • Self-driven and results-oriented, with a high level of ownership and accountability
  • Experience with marketplace platforms (e.g. Mirakl) is a plus
  • Intercultural competence and ability to work effectively in international teams
