Job description

A leading global asset manager is seeking an experienced Institutional Sales VP/ Director to join its Singapore-based distribution team. This role focuses on developing and expanding relationships with institutional clients across Southeast Asia, with a particular emphasis on growing the platform’s private markets capabilities alongside its broader investment offering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the distribution of a global suite of investment strategies to institutional clients across Southeast Asia, including sovereign entities, pensions, insurance companies, central banks, endowments, and family offices.
  • Build and execute a strategic sales plan in partnership with regional leadership, with a strong focus on fundraising initiatives, particularly within private markets.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities, cultivating both existing relationships and new prospective clients.
  • Collaborate closely with regional and global teams to position investment solutions effectively across different client segments.
  • Represent the firm in the market, strengthening brand presence and deepening relationships with key institutional stakeholders.
  • Lead end-to-end sales processes, including client meetings, pitch preparation, RFP responses, and coordination of internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with internal functions (investment, product, legal, compliance, and operations) to ensure seamless execution and client delivery.
  • Partner with client servicing teams to retain and grow existing relationships, identifying opportunities to cross-sell additional strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to all internal policies and regulatory requirements across Southeast Asia markets.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 10 years of institutional sales or client coverage experience within asset management or financial services.
  • Strong network across Southeast Asia institutional investors, particularly in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
  • Proven track record of fundraising success, ideally with exposure to private markets strategies.
  • Experience covering a broad range of institutional clients, with added advantage in endowments and family offices.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a proactive, results-driven approach to business development.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage senior decision-makers.
  • Solid understanding of global financial markets and investment strategies.
  • Highly self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and collaborative in approach.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and AI platforms (e.g. ChatGPT, Copilot) is advantageous.
  • Professional qualifications such as CFA are preferred.
