Job description

[What the role is]

You will be part of the Local Production Marketing & Outreach (LPMO) Department which drives demand and builds consumer awareness of local produce through B2B and B2C channels. On the B2B front, LPMO works with HORECA companies and retailers to secure demand offtake commitments for local produce and organises international & national events or platforms to position Singapore as the thought-leader for tropical urban agriculture. On the B2C front, LPMO implements marketing campaigns as well as school & community outreach programmes to raise consumer awareness of and preference for local produce, building a strong retail demand base that complements its industry partnerships. [What you will be working on]

Business Development

  • Support the development and implementation of strategies and initiatives to drive demand offtake of local produce across major segments including HORECA, food manufacturers and retail.
  • Identify collaboration opportunities and work with relevant stakeholders to plan and execute joint promotions and initiatives that increase demand for local produce.
  • Assist in organizing and participate in international and national events to profile Singapore as a thought leader in urban food solutions.

Industry Engagement

  • Serve as point of contact within SFA for information sharing, market intelligence, stakeholder engagement and feedback, and coordination on regulatory matters.

  • Identify and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, institutions of higher learning, research institutions and industry partners to develop solutions that grow the local produce market.

  • Disseminate information on industry trends and relevant support schemes to farms through engagement sessions and the industry associations. Marketing & Outreach

  • Support the development, production and implementation of marketing communications strategies including campaigns and outreach programmes targeting schools and the wider community to promote local produce.

  • Develop content for marketing and educational materials that raise consumer awareness of and preference for local produce, and assist in managing external vendors and project budgets under supervision.

  • Handle administrative and operational including monthly reports, budget tracking and attending to stakeholder enquiries. [What we are looking for]

  • University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Science or a related field.

  • At least 3 years’ relevant work experience in business development, marketing communications and/or partnerships & engagement.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas concisely; fluency in Chinese is advantageous for engaging Chinese-speaking stakeholders.

  • Business-savvy, analytical and result-oriented with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.

  • A motivated team player who is comfortable working both independently and in cross-functional teams, with a self-starter mindset, attention to detail, and a creative and resourceful approach.

  • Willing to work on weekends, public holidays and after office hours when required.
