As a Quality Engineer Advanced Batteries (m/f/d) at our Hannover plant, you will ensure stable and capable production by acting as a broad quality owner across supplier, customer, and internal quality topics. In this role, you combine hands-on problem solving with strong process understanding and clear ownership for results.
You will operate in a small, agile organization where flexibility and cross-functional collaboration are key. By building and leveraging a strong network across plants and regions, you will accelerate performance, share best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement in a high-traceability manufacturing environment.
The position will be based in our Li-Ion plant location in Hanover, Germany.
What you will do
As Quality Engineer Advanced Batteries (m/f/d), your responsibilities will include:
Customer Quality
- Own the plant interface for customer quality topics (complaints, escalations, communication)
- Monitor customer portals and KPIs, define and drive actions and priorities
- Lead 8D problem solving including root cause identification, corrective actions and closure
- Ensure effective containment and manage customer audits
- Supplier Quality
- Own supplier-related quality performance for assigned components and suppliers
- Drive resolution of supplier issues including containment and corrective actions
- Ensure robust incoming quality control and aligned documentation
- Collaborate with Purchasing and Engineering on supplier selection and risk assessment
Plant Quality & Systems
- Own and continuously improve PFMEA, Control Plan and related documents
- Ensure full integration of customer requirements into production processes
- Drive internal and external audit readiness (IATF) and closure of findings
- Establish and enforce structured problem-solving and system improvement
Field & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze field returns and identify systemic issues
- Drive preventive measures and integrate learnings into processes
- Reduce scrap, defects and process variation through targeted actions
NPI / Change Implementation
- Ensure quality readiness for new products and process changes (APQP)
- Drive quality deliverables and risk mitigation for serial production
Networking & Flexibility
- Build and leverage a strong network across plants and regions
- Transfer best practices and implement proven solutions locally
- Take ownership of broader plant topics beyond strict quality scope where needed
What makes you a good fit
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a comparable technical background
- At least 2 years of experience in quality, or a strong early-career profile with high ownership and growth potential
- Solid knowledge of IATF 16949, customer requirements, and quality tools such as 8D, PFMEA, and Control Plans
- Strong communication and structured problem-solving skills
- Fluent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
- Willingness to travel up to 10%
- Experience in battery production or high-traceability manufacturing environments
- Background in supplier quality and audit processes
- Strong ownership mindset with high accountability
- Structured, root cause-focused problem-solving approach
- Ability to connect customer, supplier, and internal process topics into systemic improvements
- High learning agility and proactive networking behavior
- Hands-on, pragmatic, and
