YOUR CHALLENGE

  • Lead the design and development of a critical cloud-native backend system
  • Drive the re-architecture of a large-scale legacy application using modern Java technologies
  • Build scalable and resilient backend services from the ground up using Spring Boot
  • Develop and deploy high-throughput, distributed systems in a cloud environment
  • Apply cutting-edge software engineering practices, including the use of AI-assisted development tools, to accelerate delivery while maintaining high code quality
  • Serve as a technical leader in a strategic modernisation initiative, guiding best practices in enterprise-grade Java backend development
  • Optimise system performance in complex, high-demand environments
  • Collaborate effectively in a transformation program requiring strong technical ownership and innovation

YOUR PROFILE

  • 8+ years’ experience in developing server-side Java applications, preferably within financial or other regulated high-performance domains
  • Deep proficiency in Java 21+ and Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Security, Spring Cloud)
  • Expertise in designing for high throughput and low latency , applying asynchronous processing and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
  • Hands-on experience building and operating cloud-native microservices on AWS, Azure, or GCP — including containers (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), service mesh, and cloud storage/services
  • Proficient in instrumenting applications for observability using Micrometer and OpenTelemetry, including metrics collection (latency, error rates, throughput), distributed tracing across service boundaries, and contextual logging to enable proactive monitoring and rapid incident diagnosis in production environments
  • Experience refactoring or migrating monolithic systems to microservice architectures
  • Practical exposure to AI-assisted development workflows and familiarity with integrating generative AI tools into IDEs and code reviews
  • Able to work autonomously in a global team setup to take on initiative with a positive attitude
  • Solution orientated and able to work in an agile setup
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines
  • Excellent command of verbal and written communication skills in English
