Job description
Role Summary: The Project Risk Controller is responsible for identifying, assessing, mitigating, and monitoring project risks while transforming complex project data into high-quality presentations, dashboards, and governance reporting packages that support informed decision-making at all levels of project leadership. Working under PMO governance and in coordination with the Project Planner, Project Control Engineer, and project teams across engineering, procurement, and construction, the role ensures timely and accurate communication of project status, risk exposure, and performance trends to achieve project objectives in terms of scope, cost, schedule, quality, safety, and compliance.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Consolidate, analyze, and translate complex project data received from Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Finance, and contractor teams into structured, accurate, and decision-ready management communication materials for project leadership and governance stakeholders.
- Prepare high-quality project presentations, executive summaries, dashboards, and senior-level reporting packages that clearly communicate project status, performance trends, risk exposure, key concerns, and recommended actions, ensuring full alignment with the PMO Head's reporting expectations and governance requirements.
- Coordinate with the Project Planner and Project Control Engineer to source verified schedule, cost, and progress data, integrating these with risk analysis outputs into unified performance outlooks, trend analyses, and visually compelling management reporting tools.
- Present project status, performance reports, risk summaries, and key updates in governance meetings and management reviews, translating complex technical and commercial information into clear, precise, and impactful communication for decision-makers.
- Design and maintain standardized presentation templates, reporting formats, and visual communication frameworks, ensuring consistency, professionalism, and alignment with corporate standards across all project reporting outputs.
- Develop and maintain the project risk management framework, keeping the risk register current and reflective of qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, and converting risk identification outputs into concise, management-ready reports and presentation materials.
- Monitor and track the implementation of risk mitigation actions and contingency plans by coordinating with discipline leads, ensuring mitigation status is consistently reflected in all governance reports and management presentations.
- Liaise with contract, procurement, and relevant project teams to obtain risk-related and performance inputs, incorporating these into presentation-ready briefing materials and management summaries suitable for senior leadership review.
- Ensure all reports, presentations, and communication materials are version-controlled and archived in coordination with Document Controllers, and comply with project governance requirements, corporate reporting standards, and confidentiality obligations, while continuously improving the analytical depth and visual quality of all project communication outputs.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Business Management (MBA).
- 10-15 years of experience in project risk management, project controls, or project coordination within large-scale plant construction, oil & gas, power, or industrial infrastructure projects.
- Experience working on EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) projects is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of project execution, stakeholder coordination, and risk management processes in Saudi Arabian industrial projects.
- Experience in project reporting, coordination meetings, interface management, and action tracking is preferred.
- Experience in large-scale plant construction projects is highly desirable.
