Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Test Technician to join our test team, focusing on high current tests.

As a Test Technician in our High Current Laboratory, you will perform electrical tests and ensure reliable operation of critical lab infrastructure such as electrical machines and high-power switching systems. You will work with test engineers and lab operations to deliver compliant test results. You will report to the local laboratory manager and collaborate with international engineering teams, contributing to the testing and validation of innovative products for global markets.

Your Responsibilities:

• Execute high-current electrical tests (IEC / UL) including setup, configuration, and monitoring of test systems
• Maintain and troubleshoot high-power lab infrastructure, including electrical machines, switching devices, and power distribution systems
• Ensure operational readiness of equipment through preventive and corrective maintenance
• Record test results and maintenance data in a traceable, audit-compliant manner
• Ensure safe operation of all lab activities, including adherence to LOTO procedures and PPE requirements

The Essentials - You Will Have:

• Completed Swiss vocational training (EFZ) as:
  • Automatiker EFZ , Elektroinstallateur EFZ , Elektroniker EFZ , Polymechaniker EFZ or similar technical apprenticeship or equivalent international technical qualification
• 2+ years of experience in electrical testing, industrial environments, or equipment maintenance
• Hands-on experience with industrial electrical components or power equipment
• Experience with electrical power systems and measurement techniques
• Experience with electrical schematics to identify system faults, and support troubleshooting of high-power test setups
• Fluent German and basic English skills

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

• 3–5 years of experience in high-current testing or power systems environments
• Experience maintaining electrical machines, switchgear, or heavy electrical equipment
• Knowledge of IEC and UL standards (e.g., IEC 61439, IEC/UL 60947, UL 508, UL 61800)
• Experience working in an ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems (CMMS)
• Basic knowledge of control systems (PLC, generator or switching control systems)
• Valid forklift operator license (SUVA recognized) and experience handling heavy equipment
