Job Description:

Position Summary:

This role sits within the APAC Trade Operations team and primarily supports the Capital Markets products in the Fixed Income, Funding and Money Market business. The Funding team communicates daily with both internal and external business groups such as various front office partners, offshore offices, and externally with Correspondent banks to meet our Service Level Agreement. In addition, this group manages confirmations, settlements and trade support process for Money Market trading activities.

The team is heavily involved in strategic initiatives, business development, and process improvements to drive efficiency, improve client service levels, and reduce risk.

It will require a highly motivated individual with strong decision making skills, who is able to work independently and also as part of a team. The incumbent  may be involved in Capital Markets cross products processing and various other support functions for the Singapore desks as directed by the Manager of Trade Operations. The individual will identify opportunities for process improvements and support the development of business requirements and project testing for new initiatives and projects.

  • Ability to multi-task and provide coverage to different desks

  • Solid control mindset, strong analytical and problem solving skills; initiative to follow up on items or determine appropriate steps for timely resolution

  • Experience supporting project delivery, system implementations, and operational readiness activities

  • Attention to details and high personal standards for accuracy and quality of work produced

  • A solid team player with high energy and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Good Excel skills and experience working with spreadsheets

  • Working knowledge of Swift be beneficial.

  • As the role will operate in a highly regulated environment, a high degree of flexibility is required to accommodate last minute projects and ad-hoc requests where necessary.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage, analyze, and direct EUR, GBP and USD dollar payments flow for main trading Nostro by utilizing various in house liquidity management applications.

  • Perform transactional monitoring and investigate exceptional Nostro account balances under TD Securities

  • Manage the Daily Funding Requirement platform and the Internal funding relationship setups with the Funding desk

  • Act as authoriser to approve and release daily transactions/payments

  • Manage both internal and external queries with efficiency and effectiveness

  • Lead project analysis, development, testing and implementation of new process/process improvements

  • Contribute to the development of cross products business plan and operationalize the plan and deliver on assigned service or functionality.

  • Monitor service and control standards against, overall business / department objectives, markets standards.

  • Provide guidance and training for team members to assist them in meeting challenges, department objectives and achieve full potential

  • Closely monitors team's workflows, plan / coordinates the activities for the function / products and resolves operational issues.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Capital Markets Operations experience, with a strong understanding of Funding, Money Market, and Treasury products, as well as sound knowledge of the end-to-end trade lifecycle including trade capture, confirmation, settlement, reconciliation, and exception management.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting/driving business transformation initiatives, system enhancements, and strategic projects within a global markets or trade operations environment.

  • Ability to document business requirements, perform impact assessments and perform testing activities

  • Strong interpersonal communication verbal and written skills.

  • Bachelor degree (ideally in accounting/banking/finance/economics)

  • Able to attend night calls with Europe and North America based partners (As required)

  • Ability to work on Singapore Public Holidays (Rotational basis)
