Job Description – Store In-Charge
Department: Fit-Out / Projects / Stores
Reports To: Project Manager / Operations Manager / Division Manager
Job Purpose
Responsible for managing the fit-out store/warehouse, ensuring proper receipt, storage, issuance, tracking, and control of construction, joinery, MEP, finishing materials, tools, equipment, and consumables required for project activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day store operations and maintain proper control of all materials, tools, equipment, and consumables.
- Receive incoming materials and verify quantities, specifications, condition, and supporting documents against Purchase Orders and Delivery Notes.
- Coordinate with Procurement, Project Managers, Site Engineers, Supervisors, and suppliers regarding material deliveries and requirements.
- Prepare and maintain Goods Receipt Notes (GRN), Material Receipt Records, Material Issue Vouchers, Return Notes, and Stock Transfer Records.
- Issue materials to project/site teams only against approved material requests or authorized documents.
- Maintain accurate stock records in the ERP/system and ensure physical stock matches system balances.
- Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels and inform Procurement/Management regarding shortages and replenishment requirements.
- Properly identify, label, arrange, and store materials according to category, project, and safety requirements.
- Maintain separate records for project-specific materials and ensure materials are charged/allocated to the correct project or cost center.
- Control the issuance and return of power tools, hand tools, machines, ladders, scaffolding accessories, and other reusable equipment.
- Maintain a tool register and track damaged, lost, or unreturned tools and equipment.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of fit-out materials such as timber, plywood/MDF, laminates, hardware, paints, adhesives, gypsum materials, tiles, sanitary items, electrical and MEP materials.
- Monitor expiry dates and storage requirements for paints, chemicals, adhesives, sealants, and other sensitive materials.
- Conduct periodic physical stock counts and assist with monthly/annual inventory audits.
- Identify slow-moving, damaged, excess, or obsolete materials and report them to management.
- Maintain proper housekeeping, material stacking, access routes, and safe working conditions within the store.
- Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, fire safety procedures, PPE requirements, and safe material-handling practices.
- Maintain records of supplier returns, rejected materials, scrap materials, and material transfers between projects/sites.
- Coordinate transportation and timely dispatch of materials to project locations.
- Ensure no material or equipment leaves the store without proper authorization and documentation.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly stock and material consumption reports as required by management.
- Perform any other store, logistics, or project-support duties assigned by management.
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience as Storekeeper / Store In-Charge, preferably within a Fit-Out, Interior Decoration, Construction, Joinery, or MEP company.
- Good knowledge of fit-out materials, tools, hardware, consumables, and construction materials.
- Experience in inventory management and ERP/store management systems.
- Good working knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office.
- UAE/GCC fit-out or construction experience is preferred.

- Knowledge of warehouse safety and material-handling procedures.
Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED3,500.00 per hour
