Head of Engineering - Furniture Manufacturing, FF&E & Joinery

We're Hiring: Head of Engineering

Are you a highly skilled engineering leader with a passion for technical excellence, innovation, and delivering world-class bespoke furniture, joinery, and interior fit-out projects?

We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead our Engineering Department and drive the successful delivery of technical documentation, shop drawings, 3D models, and production information across luxury hospitality, high-end residential, and premium commercial projects.

Reporting directly to the Chief Technical Officer (CTO), you will play a critical role in bridging Design, Project Management, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Installation teams to ensure projects are executed efficiently, accurately, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

·      Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Engineers and Draftsmen.

·      Allocate resources and manage engineering workloads across multiple projects.

·      Establish and maintain engineering procedures, drafting standards, and document control systems.

·      Drive continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices.

Technical Documentation & Engineering Delivery

·      Oversee the preparation of detailed shop drawings, production drawings, and 3D models.

·      Review and approve engineering documentation prior to client submission and production release.

·      Ensure drawing accuracy, revision control, and compliance with project specifications.

·      Verify manufacturability and technical feasibility of designs.

Design Coordination & Technical Development

·      Collaborate with Design, Project Management, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams.

·      Provide technical guidance on materials, finishes, fabrication methods, and detailing solutions.

·      Support value engineering initiatives while preserving design intent and quality

·      Review supplier technical submissions and shop drawings

Quality & Project Coordination

·      Ensure engineering deliverables meet company quality standards

·      Identify fabrication and installation risks and develop practical solutions

·      Monitor engineering KPIs related to quality, accuracy, revisions, and delivery timelines

·      Support production and installation teams with technical expertise and issue resolution

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements

·      8-10+ years of experience in joinery, furniture manufacturing, FF&E engineering, or interior fit-out projects

·      Strong expertise in AutoCAD and shop drawing production

·      Proven experience managing engineering or drafting teams

·      Strong understanding of bespoke furniture manufacturing, joinery detailing, materials, and production processes

·      Excellent technical problem-solving and stakeholder management skills

·      Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken)

Preferred Qualifications

·      Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related technical discipline

·      Proficiency in SolidWorks, Revit, or other 3D modelling software

·      Professional certifications in AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or related software

·      Experience delivering luxury hospitality, high-end residential, or premium commercial fit-out projects
