Job description

Well Built is a UAE based healthy building consultancy, specialising in evidence-based health and wellbeing strategies for the built environment. Through Well Built, we work with developers, architects, hospitality operators, and asset owners to integrate evidence-based health and wellbeing strategies into projects through healthy building design, WELL Certification, Fitwel, indoor environmental quality assessments, and design guidance that enhances occupant health and wellbeing and long-term asset/business value.

Our Areas of Expertise: Indoor Air Quality, Lighting environment, Thermal Comfort, Acoustics & Comfort, Biophilia & nature, Inclusive design, Health & Safety.

As our work continues to grow, we are looking for an architect / engineer to join our team. This is an opportunity for someone who is curious about why buildings affect people the way they do and wants to move beyond conventional sustainability metrics into a deeper understanding of healthy, human-centred environments.

The Role

You will work closely with our team to develop evidence-based Health & Wellbeing Strategies, assessments and technical reports for a range of building and development projects. Your role will sit between design thinking, technical analysis and research.

Your work may include:

  • Reviewing architectural drawings, specifications, project data and design information.
  • Researching health, wellbeing and building science topics using credible scientific and industry sources.
  • Conducting on-site indoor environmental quality (IEQ) assessments and performance evaluations.
  • Developing clear, evidence-based recommendations for project teams.
  • Supporting the preparation of Health & Wellbeing Strategy reports.
  • Analysing building conditions and identifying opportunities to improve occupant health, comfort and experience.
  • Translating WELL and other evidence-based frameworks into project-specific design strategies.
  • Supporting technical assessments across environmental and human-centred design parameters.
  • Working collaboratively with architects, engineers, consultants and clients.
  • Contributing to the development of Well Built's internal methodologies, research library and knowledge base.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone with a strong design or technical foundation and a genuine interest in the relationship between buildings, human health and wellbeing.

Essential

• WELL Accredited Professional (WELL AP).

  • Minimum 4 years' professional experience in architecture, engineering, building science, environmental design or a related discipline.
  • Experience with indoor environmental quality assessment.
  • Experience with daylight, energy, thermal comfort or building performance analysis, using DesignBuilder, ClimateStudio, Ladybug Tools or similar software.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and interpret credible scientific and industry evidence.
  • Strong written communication and attention to detail, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, practical recommendations.
  • Genuine interest in health, wellbeing and human-centred design.
  • Ability to work independently, manage deliverables and take ownership of assigned work.
  • A willingness to learn and develop expertise across multiple areas of healthy building science.

Valuable, but not essential

Experience with:

• Fitwel, LEED, BREEAM, RESET, Living Building Challenge or other health, wellbeing and sustainability frameworks.

  • Post-occupancy evaluation, occupant surveys, environmental monitoring or building diagnostics.
  • Experience interpreting sensor data, environmental performance data or occupant feedback and translating findings into design recommendations.
  • Client-facing consultancy experience, including workshops, presentations and coordination with multidisciplinary project teams.

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
