Site Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and supervision of electrical systems to ensure that they meet project requirements, industry standards, and local regulations. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a thorough understanding of electrical systems in large-scale construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the electrical design and execution activities for high-rise building projects.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
• Review and approve electrical design drawings, calculations, material submittals, and shop drawings.
• Ensure all electrical system designs (LV, MV, power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, BMS, ELV systems, etc.) comply with international standards and UAE regulations.
• Provide technical input and design solutions during project development and execution stages.
• Perform load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop analysis, and short-circuit calculations using software tools.
• Supervise and inspect on-site electrical installations to ensure adherence to approved designs and quality standards.
• Resolve technical issues that arise during the construction phase in coordination with the project and site teams.
• Conduct site inspections and testing/commissioning of electrical systems.
• Prepare technical reports, progress reports, and documentation required for authority approvals and project handover.
• Maintain proper records of project documentation and correspondence.
• Ensure timely submission of all electrical deliverables as per project milestones.
• Liaise with local authorities (DEWA, ADDC, etc.) for approvals and inspections.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations on site.
• Guide and mentor junior engineers and draftsmen in technical and project-related tasks.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration within the team.

Qualifications and Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience, with at least 5 years in the UAE on high-rise building projects.
• Strong knowledge of electrical design codes (NEC, IEC, DEWA/ADDC standards).
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Dialux, ETAP, and other electrical design software.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• UAE driving license is an advantage
