Job description
Duties
- Plans, schedules, organizes and implements activities. Such activities include but are not limited to cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, canoeing, camping, trips, skeet shooting, parks, ranges, mountain climbing and overnight recreational trips.
- Demonstrates techniques and instructs participants in the use of equipment.
- Coordinates with installation, county, and state officials on programs and information related to outdoor recreation and required licenses.

- May assist in the preparation and development of the annual operating budget and 5- year plan.
Requirements Conditions of employment

- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Must be willing and able to work evenings, weekends, and Special MWR events.
- This position has an occasional driving requirement in support of the activity. Must be willing to obtain and maintain both a valid USAREUR driver's license and a TMP license.

A Qualified Candidate Must Possess The Following
- Experience OR a combination of experience and education that provided the knowledge of the goals, principles, methods, and techniques of recreation programs and an understanding of the interests of individuals or groups.
- Completion of the requirements for a bachelor's degree with major study in outdoor recreation and parks; recreation management; youth, public, urban or community recreation; or special population recreation is qualifying experience.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
- Experience instructing rock climbing.
- Experience in a combination of rock climbing, hiking, paddlesports, snowsports.
- Professional certifications in a combination of rock climbing, hiking, paddlesports, snowsports.
- Experience with the Rectrac Point of Sale system.
- Experience maintaining ski/snowboard equipment (I.e. Base, Edge, Binding care).

Allowances and Differentials
- This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
- Foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), incentives and differentials will not be paid, with the exception of post allowance, contingent upon eligibility.
