Job Description:
What's the role
The Information, Digital & Technology (IDT) Manager NAM is accountable for the end-to-end technology function of Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij (NAM), supporting both the Onshore South (oil and gas production) and Onshore North (gas production) businesses. NAM is entering a significant period of transformation. From 1 March 2027, NAM will operate as an independent company following the complete separation of Information, Digital and Technology (IDT) services currently provided by Shell.
To enable this transition, a major technology transformation programme is delivering NAM's future-state technology landscape, including infrastructure, enterprise applications, cyber security, digital workplace services, operational technology, and core business platforms.
The successful candidate will initially join this role within Shell and play a leading role in supporting the final stages of the transition to NAM's future technology environment. Working closely with NAM's shareholders, Shell and ExxonMobil, the role will ensure the successful adoption, operational readiness, governance, and long-term sustainability of the future technology landscape.
Following the establishment of NAM as an independent company on 1 March 2027, the role will transition to NAM and assume full accountability for the standalone Information, Digital & Technology function, including technology strategy, service delivery, cyber security, technology risk management, supplier governance, and the leadership of NAM's technology organization.
The role has enterprise-wide responsibility for technology strategy, cyber security, operational resilience, digital services, enterprise applications, infrastructure, operational technology (OT), supplier governance, data and analytics, and technology risk management.
Working closely with senior business leaders, the Head of IDT will ensure technology enables business objectives while delivering secure, reliable, and cost-effective services across the enterprise.
The role is accountable for ensuring technology enables the safe, secure, and reliable operation of assets that form part of the Netherlands' critical energy infrastructure, maintaining high standards of cyber resilience, operational continuity, and regulatory compliance.
A key priority for the role will be establishing and maturing the technology capabilities, operating model, governance, and supplier ecosystem required to support NAM as an independent company. The successful candidate will lead the evolution of a predominantly outsourced technology operating model while ensuring seamless, secure, and resilient delivery of technology services.
The Head of IDT will play a critical leadership role in shaping NAM's technology strategy, operating model, and digital future while ensuring technology investments deliver measurable business value and support long-term business objectives.
During the transition phase, the Head of Information, Digital & Technology (IDT) will report to the General Manager, Information, Digital & Technology for Conventional Oil & Gas within Shell. Following the establishment of NAM as an independent company, the role will report to the General Manager Technical and serve as a member of the NAM Leadership Team.
This role requires an accomplished technology executive who can effectively operate at both strategic and operational levels, build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, and lead a high-performing organization across employees, contractors, and strategic technology partners.
