Electrician

General contractor seeking skilled Electrician, or hands-on Electrical Engineer, with strong practical site experience to support construction, fit-out, maintenance, and service projects in Abu Dhabi.

Preference will be given to those with verifiable UAE experience and trade certificates.

Must be technically competent and willing to work on troubleshooting, testing, installation, repairs, and coordination with other trades.

The ideal candidate combines the practical ability of an experienced electrician with the technical knowledge required to understand drawings, specifications, electrical calculations, testing requirements, and UAE electrical standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Installation & Technical Work

• Carry out and supervise LV electrical installation works, including containment, cabling, wiring, termination and equipment connections.
• Install and troubleshoot DBs, SMDBs, isolators, MCC-related connections, lighting, power outlets and associated electrical systems.
• Perform cable termination, gland installation, testing and identification.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and identify root causes rather than relying solely on replacement of components.
• Conduct testing using appropriate electrical test equipment, including multimeters, insulation resistance testers and clamp meters.
• Perform continuity, insulation resistance, voltage, current and other required electrical tests.
• Support testing, commissioning and handover of completed installations.
• Carry out maintenance, repair and modification of existing electrical installations when required.
• Personally attend to technically difficult electrical problems and guide electricians in resolving them.

Technical & Site Coordination

• Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, schematics, specifications and approved shop drawings. --especially installation manuals and directions for installation of special electrical fittings and technology based fittings.
• Review site conditions against drawings and identify discrepancies before installation.
• Coordinate electrical works with civil, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing and other trades.
• Prepare material requirements and assist with quantity take-offs for electrical works.
• Verify that materials delivered to site comply with approved specifications and project requirements.
• Monitor site progress against project schedules and immediately report potential delays or material shortages.
• Coordinate inspections and testing with the Project Engineer, Consultant, Client and relevant authorities as required.
• Assist with preparation of red-line drawings, as-built information and project closeout documentation.

Quality Control

• Verify completed work before requesting formal inspection.
• Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, manufacturer requirements and applicable UAE standards.
• Identify defective or non-compliant work and ensure corrective action is completed.
• Minimize material wastage, rework and unnecessary labour.

Safety

• Ensure electrical work is performed in accordance with company HSE procedures and applicable UAE requirements.
• Apply safe isolation and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. If not trained/certified, training will be provided.
• Ensure appropriate PPE, tools and test equipment are used.
• Verify circuits are safely isolated before work begins.
• Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment and electrical hazards immediately.

Required Qualifications

• Candidates with a strong electrical trade qualification and extensive practical experience will be considered.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant electrical construction/maintenance experience.
• UAE experience strongly preferred.
• Strong practical knowledge of LV electrical systems and ability to pass electrical testing exams.
• Must be capable of performing electrical troubleshooting and technical site work personally.
• Good understanding of UAE electrical installation practices, regulations and safety requirements.
• Ability to read electrical drawings, SLDs and technical specifications.
• Experience with construction, villas, commercial fit-out, facilities maintenance or general contracting is preferred.
• UAE driving licence is an advantage.
• Good spoken and written English; Arabic is an advantage.

Indicative Monthly Salary

Experienced Electrician / Technician AED 3,000–4,000

Senior Electrician / Electrical Supervisor AED 4,000–5,500

Hands-On Electrical Engineer AED 5,500–7,000

Transportation: Company transportation/site vehicle as applicable
Mobile: Company SIM/allowance where required
Overtime: Where applicable based on employee classification and UAE Labour Law
Annual Leave / Air Ticket / Medical Insurance / End-of-Service: In accordance with UAE Labour Law and company policy
Performance Review: Salary review based on technical capability, productivity, attendance, quality of work and ability to independently manage electrical activities.

Performance Expectations

Performance will be assessed based on role responsiblities and may include:

• Completion of work according to project schedules.

Pay: AED3,500.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
