Cybersecurity Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to support the security and protection of enterprise IT and network environments. The role will cover security monitoring, network security, vulnerability management, incident response and security governance.

You will work closely with infrastructure and network teams to implement security controls, monitor potential threats and support ongoing security and compliance initiatives. This role is suitable for candidates with experience in cybersecurity, network security or IT security operations .

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity policies, procedures and security controls.
• Configure, maintain and monitor security solutions including firewalls, SIEM, antivirus and IDS/IPS .
• Monitor security events and alerts, perform initial investigation and support incident response activities.
• Conduct or support vulnerability scanning, security risk assessments and audits .
• Work with network and infrastructure teams to implement appropriate security configurations and controls.
• Support remediation activities for identified security vulnerabilities and risks.
• Maintain security-related asset inventories, configuration records and technical documentation.
• Support security compliance, reporting and audit requirements.
• Assist with security awareness and best-practice initiatives across the organization.
• Apply security best practices across AWS, Azure or GCP cloud environments.
• Keep up to date with emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities and security practices, particularly within telecom environments.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in Cybersecurity, Network Security, Network Support or IT Security Operations.
• Good understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, including threats, risk management, incident response and data protection .
• Knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, VPN and encryption .
• Experience or familiarity with SIEM, firewalls, antivirus, IDS/IPS and vulnerability scanning tools .
• Basic knowledge of cloud security across AWS, Azure or GCP .
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and documentation skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with infrastructure, network and security teams.

Advantageous Skills

• CompTIA Security+, Cisco CyberOps, ECSA, CCNA or CCNP certification.
• Exposure to Python or PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Experience supporting telecommunications environments or infrastructure .
