Job description

About the role

At LYNX, we are investing in the responsible adoption of automation and AI across our organization. As a Medior IT Specialist – Automation & AI, you will be one of the founding members of our newly created Automation & AI Enablement team, reporting directly to the CTO.

You will help teams across LYNX identify automation opportunities, select the right tools, build proof of concepts, and develop low-code solutions and AI agents. Rather than owning automations for the business, you enable colleagues to build and manage effective solutions themselves while ensuring they operate within a robust governance framework.

This is a hands-on and highly collaborative role combining automation, AI, process improvement, experimentation, and governance. You will work with teams across the organization, from Marketing and Customer Service to Compliance, Privacy, Information Security, and Technology.

If you enjoy experimenting with emerging technology, building practical solutions, and helping others use automation and AI effectively and responsibly, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll do

  • Build and co-develop low-code automation solutions and AI agents, from Proof of Concept through to handover, together with business owners.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize automation opportunities across the organization.
  • Analyse and map business processes and recommend improvements to make workflows more suitable for automation.
  • Research and evaluate automation platforms and AI tools and support decisions on tooling and implementation.
  • Create reusable, plug-and-play automation tooling and frameworks that can be applied across LYNX.
  • Review and validate automations and AI solutions developed by other teams, focusing on quality, robustness, and risk management.
  • Support risk assessments together with business owners and stakeholders from Privacy, Compliance, and Information Security.
  • Maintain LYNX's Automation Registry, including Agent/Algorithm and AI System registers, and support appropriate risk classification.
  • Deliver training, guidelines, and hands-on coaching to increase automation and AI capabilities across the organization.
  • Advise business owners on monitoring, quality assurance, and change management for the automations they own.
  • Experiment with new technologies and validate Proofs of Concept against measurable outcomes such as efficiency gains, ROI, and risk reduction.
  • Work closely with Engineering and other Technology teams when automation opportunities require larger or more complex technical solutions.

Who you are

You are a technically skilled and curious professional who enjoys turning business challenges into practical automation solutions. You combine hands-on technical ability with strong communication skills and are comfortable experimenting, challenging ideas, and coaching non-technical colleagues.

  • 3–6 years of relevant experience in IT, automation, or a related technical role.
  • Hands-on experience with low-code/no-code automation platforms such as Power Automate, Make, n8n, UiPath, or similar.
  • Practical experience applying AI in a business environment, including LLM-based agents, AI APIs, prompt design, and AI-enabled workflows.
  • Strong process analysis and mapping skills, with the ability to translate business processes into effective automation designs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable building Proofs of Concept, experimenting with solutions, and validating results.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts and risks in clear language.
  • Able to coach non-technical colleagues and constructively challenge proposed automation solutions.
  • Pragmatic, proactive, and hands-on, with a strong sense of ownership and quality.

Nice to have

  • Experience within financial services, FinTech, or another regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as the AI Act, GDPR, DORA, or MiFID II.
  • Experience with risk assessments, information security, quality assurance, or change management.
  • Experience with scripting or light development using Python, JavaScript, or similar technologies.
  • Experience maintaining automation documentation, registers, governance frameworks, or other governance artifacts.
  • Experience evaluating and implementing automation or AI tooling at an organizational level.

What we offer

  • A competitive salary based on experience.
  • Flexible working hours in the heart of Amsterdam.
  • A fixed 13th-month salary.
  • Pension scheme.
  • Travel expense reimbursement.
  • An annual training budget of €2,000, freely allocated to your professional development.
  • The opportunity to join a newly created team with direct CTO sponsorship and company-wide visibility.
  • Room to experiment with emerging automation and AI technologies and directly influence how they are adopted across LYNX.
  • Team outings, social drinks, and an annual weekend trip with the entire team.
