Are you passionate about data, systems, and creating structure in a complex project environment? As a System Specialist at Tata Steel, you ensure that project teams have reliable systems, reporting, and insights to support cost control and project management. Your work enables better decision-making and strengthens financial control across projects, programs, and portfolios.

Tata Steel manages a large portfolio of industrial projects that rely on accurate data and effective reporting. You play a key role in unlocking, structuring, and combining information from multiple systems, ensuring that stakeholders always have access to reliable and actionable insights.

As a System Specialist, you are more than a system expert. You advise on system integrations, improve workflows and data processes, and help shape the future of digital project controls. Your analyses and reporting provide management with the information needed to make informed decisions and successfully deliver strategic projects.

As a System Specialist at Tata Steel...

• You create dashboards, reports, and analyses that provide clear insights into project, program, and portfolio performance. You translate complex data into meaningful information for stakeholders.
• You unlock, structure, and combine data from various source systems. You continuously improve workflows and processes to ensure high-quality and reliable information.
• You act as a trusted advisor for colleagues using project and financial systems. You help resolve issues, answer questions, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• You contribute to future developments in tooling, reporting, and data usage. Together with internal stakeholders and engineering partners, you help drive digital transformation within project controls.

The opportunity to play a key role in the digitalization and professionalization of project controls within one of Europe’s largest industrial companies. Your work directly supports better decision-making and successful project delivery. In addition, we offer:

• You will receive a base monthly salary ranging from €4,200 to €8,400 gross per month, depending on your education and experience.
• An additional 10% in fixed annual allowances, consisting of a 2% year-end bonus and 8% holiday allowance, plus a variable profit-sharing scheme.
• A healthy work-life balance with at least 37 days off per year, including 26 vacation days and 11.5 ADV (reduction of working hours) days.
• Participation in our collective pension scheme, with Tata Steel covering 70% of the pension contribution.
• Hybrid working opportunities, with partial remote work being a viable option.

Herken jij jezelf?

You are analytical, solution-oriented, and comfortable working at the intersection of data, systems, finance, engineering, and business processes. You enjoy turning complex information into practical insights and thrive in an environment where technology supports better decision-making.

You combine technical expertise with strong communication skills. You can work independently while effectively collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders. You understand both the technical and business side of information management and are motivated to continuously improve processes and systems. You have a clear vision on data quality and process improvement and enjoy helping organizations become more data-driven. In addition, you have:

• A completed HBO degree in Data, Finance, IT, or a related field.
• Experience with systems and data analysis in a project or financial environment.
• Strong knowledge of tools such as SAP, Power BI, Excel, and/or databases.
• Experience with process improvement and data quality initiatives, preferably within Project Controls, Program Management, or Portfolio Management.
• Knowledge of Project Controls methodologies, Monte Carlo analyses, and AI applications is an advantage.
• Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.

Jouw werkomgeving

You will work within Projects & Engineering, supporting Project Controls and Program & Portfolio Management with reliable systems, data, and reporting. As a System Specialist, you are part of the Project Controls domain and report directly to the Head Project Controls.

While you do not have direct managerial responsibilities, you work closely with Cost Controllers, Principal Specialists, and Portfolio Managers. You act as a connecting link between users, systems, and information requirements, ensuring that the right information is available at the right time.

Your role is crucial in driving further digitalization and professionalization of project management processes, enabling Tata Steel to successfully deliver complex industrial projects.
